South East View of the Cast Iron Bridge
J Phillips & Co, Sunderland Pottery
Dixon, Austin & Co, Sunderland Pottery (1818–1839)
This version of the bridge appears on typical Dixon Austin jugs from the early 1830s.

Unlike the Warburton / Scott version below, it has the height (100 ft) and span (236 ft) recorded in a small frame at the base of the transfer.
Below a jug of similar date with a darker imprint of the transfer.
J Warburton, N C Tyne
Bell's book on Tyneside Pottery makes mention of several Warburtons working in Gateshead and Carr's Hill. The verse transfer is signed 'J Warburton N C Tyne'.
Attributed to Scott of Southwick, Sunderland
This is one of a number of transfers that appear to have moved from Warburton on Tyneside to Scott in Sunderland. See more Warburton transfers on Sunderland items here. The lustre decoration is typical of that found on Scott items from the 1830s.
