Bell's book on Tyneside Pottery makes mention of several Warburtons working in Gateshead and Carr's Hill.  The verse transfer is signed 'J Warburton N C Tyne'.

This is one of a number of transfers that appear to have moved from Warburton on Tyneside to Scott in Sunderland.  See more Warburton transfers on Sunderland items here.  The lustre decoration is typical of that found on Scott items from the 1830s.
