A Heat between the four candidates at ALNWICK
BELL, LIDDELL, BEAUMONT & HOWICK
Unknown Tyne Pottery, perhaps Maling
These drabware items all have similar features, ie bands of copper lustre and painted washes of pink lustre. The lustre decoration on handles terminates about a third of the way down. On that basis, it is tempting to attribute all of the Alnwick commemoratives to one pottery: Robert Maling. However, it is possible that other Tyne potteries produced similar wares.
Below, a similar drabware mug, and another creamware example. The transfer has also been recorded on a drabware jug (last image).

The white stripe is again a feature found on many of these drabware Alnwick commemoratives.
The Blue stripe on the mug below perhaps suggests this mug was made for a Bell supporter.
