West view of the Cast Iron Bridge... (oval)
Attributed to Thomas Fell, St Peter's Pottery, Newcastle
This version of the bridge transfer appears on a jug with transfers that are firmly attributable to Thomas Fell. Like the Newbottle-attributed version, it has a smoke ring from the chimney branching upwards (see last detail).
The jugs below have enamels over the transfers. The first two with inscriptions for 1841. The flowers and squiggles of pink lustre are typical of Thomas Fell.
